First 2010 Botanical drawing
I always comment that I love plants, but lately I have painted/sketched most anything else but plants. So this year I'm starting with a post of one of my favorite themes. In this case it's a sprig that used to have flowers and that at the moment of drawing it, it already had dried fruits and seeds, ready to germinate. Here is a photo of the plant, very similar to the one on my neighbor's garden (where I took it from :)
I did this drawing last month while on the waiting room of my son's classes. The sprig came along with me many times until I finished it.

Hi Carolina. I wonder. Could you make a drawing if you are NOT in a waiting room or your car? :-) I can't draw anything well and you do it so well in less than ideal situations. (NOT FAIR!) The blossoms would make a pretty painting, no?

Maybe if I practice more? DUH!

Hi Ken!
¡Has dado en el clavo! (You nailed it!) Lately it's been so difficult for me to find time (and the right mood) while at home to start any new project, that I could only draw when outside, it was (almost) my only drawing time...
I hope this year will be different...
I am eager to see your projects with all the art stuff of your bday present!
Best regards,
Carolina

Happy New Year, Carolina! This is a nicely detailed, sensitive drawing to start the year with. I agree with the earlier comment - botanical drawing suits you :)

Carolina

Hi Janet!
Thank you for the wishes :) and for all the kindness involved in you comment :) I have to admit again that I love plants... that comes from college (I wonder why I didn't fall in love with mushrooms/fungi or animals for instance)...
Happy New Year to you too!

Carolina

Fantastic image, Carolina.
Great way to use up some waiting time.

Carolina dijo...

Thank you, Wil :) It's drawing, reading magazines, (or taking a nap, no one's watching, did I mention it?)... or thinking--> nah, that's too boring ;o)
Best regards,
Carolina
