Caracola dorada - Golden seashell

......
I wonder if by now anyone has noticed that the seashells reference photos come from the Internet… well, anyway these are only drawings for the pleasure of making them (and for the practice they involve)…
I am fascinated with the seashells theme, and I am discovering how difficult they are as drawing, and especially, as painting subjects. I chose the black & white shell included now, for example, because I thought it was going to be easy to finish quickly, BIG MISTAKE! It’s the most difficult seashell that I have done so far, maybe because of it’s ‘in diagonal’ position (not frontal, not side view). And achieving something a little bit looking like gold wasn’t peanuts either. But as it usually happens to me, I’m happy with the results. They’re far away from perfect, but that’s all I can give (at least, for now :)

Thank you for your sweet compliments you've left on my blog! I love seeing someone falling in love with painting as you are. It's a life-changing journey that will take you to amazing places. I'll be interested to see where it takes you!
Hi Susan!
You are right, I fall in love with paintings, can't help it... and yours make that happen to me... :)
Thank you so much for stopping by...
Best regards,
Carolina
I really like your sea-shells series, they are amazing and them make me want to go to the beach again(I actually am not a beach person because I don't like to get sticky very much)
Thanks for leaving comments on my drawings, the same goes to you when it comes to good artist. :) I have still got so much to learn I couldn't even say where to begin. But I'll keep working hard on correcting my mistakes, and I really should start by taking art classes. :)
Hi Alex!
I can't believe you haven't taken art classes yet? I thought you were an art student! Your talent is really something to take seriously!
And thanks a lot for your kind comment :)
I have to admit that I share with you the feelings about the sticky part of going to the beach... everything else is so cool (well, except for the enormous quantity of people on a summer weekend and extreme sunshine on my face...), but everything else is great!
Thanks again!
Carolina
